Peperomia verschaffeltii

Information and care advice for this plant can be found underneath the photos.

Please note: The pictured plant/s is an average of the batch for sale. The plant you receive may vary slightly in size, shape and colour.

$37.99 $29.99

Common name - Dwarf Watermelon Peperomia / Sweetheart

Peperomia Botanical name - Peperomia verschaffeltii

This un-common plant is hard to find and is related to the infamous and original Watermelon Peperomia (Peperomia argyreia). You can see the resemblance in the shimmering leaves, only these ones are slightly narrower.  The immature leaves on this plant are often curled and twisted then develop into soft green leaves striped with glittering silver streaks.

Your plant will thrive in a warm position and prefers moderate to bright indirect light. Peperomias are prone to root rot so ensure your soil is well draining and water only when soil is completely dry. Pinch off the flowers when they appear to allow your plant to use its energy for leaf production. Use a good quality liquid fertiliser once a month in Spring and Summer.

HOW DO YOU SHIP THE PLANTS?

Most of the time the plants are sent in their nursery pots. Occasionally, due to large plants or a large order we may have to ship bare rooted. We use compostable plastic bags and 100 % biodegradable 'foam peanuts'. We also sometimes use non biodegradable materials that have been used when shipping pots to us that we prefer to re-use than trash.

DO YOU SEND UPDATES?

There are no updates until your order ships. Orders placed before 9pm Friday ship the following Mon - Thur. Orders placed after 9pm Friday won't ship until the week after. We never ship on public holidays or weekends. If your order takes an unusually long time to arrive and the plants are not healthy or arrive damaged, please take as many photos as possible, including the box if it's damaged, and send them to us at info@greenbeanz.com.au so we can make it right.

HOW LONG DOES MY ORDER TAKE TO ARRIVE?

Orders will post Monday through Thursday via Auspost express. The cut off time for next weeks orders is 9pm each Friday. You will have the option to track your parcel and/or receive notifications through SMS or email. Most orders arrive a couple of days after they are shipped however due to Covid, delays may be experienced.
